Shanghai Duolun Museum of Modern Art is a multi-functional and non-profit institution of culture and art, providing services to the development of Chinese contemporary art and a platform for the international exchange of contemporary art. It takes “originality, academic and internationalism” as its guideline, and “inheriting historical culture, renovating contemporary art” as its aim. Being the first professional modern museum of contemporary art in China, Duolun Museum of Modern Art seeks to exhibit the creative achievements of modern art, promote the culture and art exchange between China and foreign countries, go in for the academic research on contemporary art, popularize the education of modern art and thus to fulfill the five major functions of exhibition, research, education, collection and communication.

Duolun Road was once the place where a lot of famous cultural figures in Chinese history, such as Lu Xun, created their literary and art works. Now the establishment of Duolun Museum of Modern Art will regain the cultural vitality of this renowned road with the fresh modern idea and contribute to the lasting of cultural prosperity. With farsighted vision, open attitude and progressive strategy, the museum aims to play an important role in the development of Chinese modern art and make a due contribution to the development of contemporary art in the world.

Academic Forum

The museum will regularly invites famous art theorists, scholars, critics and curators from home and abroad to make academic speeches on contemporary art, aiming at the establishment of Chinese contemporary art theory.

Database

The museum plans to build up the most comprehensive archives of Chinese contemporary art activities and artists including overseas Chinese, providing research convenience for institutions of culture and art, curators critics and scholars from home and abroad.

Artists' studios

The museum will open the studio every year, inviting famous artists from home and abroad for creative work and art exchange.

Duolun Modern Art Bookstore

The bookstore mainly sells artistic books and periodicals, recommending the book series that reflect the latest art trend and art theories. The bookstore, acting like a window, provides the access to the information of modern art for artists.

Membership Club

Regular members activities are held while artist and designer salons are provided. In addition, members can enjoy some privileges. Thus, membership of the club emblems the improvement of the quality of life and social identity.
