Artist(s): Feng Feng, LIU Qingyuan, LU Biaobiao
Date: 7 May - 30 Jun 2011

The Charm of Cautiousness: May 7, 2011 ---- Launch Exhibition of FEIZI Art Club will be kicked off at Shanghai FEIZI Art Club (55 West Fuxing Road, Shanghai) at 8:00 p.m., May 7, 2011. The exhibition will be open from May 7, 2011 through June 30, 2011. Curated by famous art critic and curator Guan Yuda, sponsored by Shanghai FEIZI Gallery, this exhibition is a debut show since the foundation of the gallery’s art club.

Different from past exhibitions, the narrative structure of the launch show of Shanghai FEIZI Art Club is related to the notion of space. The gallery provided a fixed space for the participating artists to make artistic creations accordingly. Through reconstruction, diversion and transformation of spaces, the artists create a dialogue between their artwork and space, which further achieves a new effect, promoting contemplation, discussion and interaction on the concept of space at a deeper level. This exhibition create a dream-like scene, between memory and imagination. Through this particular world, the artist wants to reveal how vain and aimless the contemporary society is, and express this emptiness by making it absurd.

The exhibition hall consists of three floors, with three artists participating. What’s on display on the first floor is the works of artist Liu Qingyuan, mainly composed of black and white wall paintings, weaved with neon light, an exploration into the issues of society, street culture, individual and language; at the same time, a DJ show performed by???? will be live on the same floor. On the second floor are home decoration items designed and displayed by artist Lu Biaobiao, who is concerned about the issues of living, memory, material and technique. The third floor exhibits works by artist Feng Feng, who ponders on topics of life, body, medicine and emptiness. Relative albums will be published after the exhibition.
