Pavillon Lille EUROPE

For the Expo 2010 Shanghai, Lille3000 and  the City of Lille (France) will hold Pavilion Lille Europe from May to July  2010 in the heart of Shanghai—Hong Miao Art Gallery,  located in an ancient taoist temple at east Nanjing Road. Pavilion Lille Europe will be one of the five official pavilion of France.

In the spirit of the great events Lille 2004 European Capital of Culture and lille3000, the pavilion highlights the culture, the gastronomy, the arts and the innovations of the companies from Northern Europe. The Pavilion Lille Europe welcomes many artistic, entertaining and interactive installations as well as the exhibition of Futuro textiles.

As part of the Shanghai 2010 Universal Exhibition, lille3000 and Lille Metropole (France)
will be opening a representative showcase right in the heart of the city, from May to July, in conjunction with the Hong Miao Art Gallery, located in a former Taoist temple (Nanjing Road). The Lille Europe Pavilion will be one of five French pavilions at the Universal Exhibition.

Sharing the same mindset as the major Lille European Capital of Culture 2004 and lille3000 events, the Pavilion will highlight the culture, gastronomy, artists and innovation of Northern European companies.

Lille Europe Pavilion will host artistic, fun and interactive items in addition to the Futurotextiles exhibition.

FUTUROTEXTILES EXHIBITION
A NEW WAY OF LOOKING AT THE TEXTILES OF THE FUTURE

Futurotextiles is a mobile exhibition module combining
science, technology and the art of textiles, showcasing a selection of concrete visions of tomorrow’s textiles in different fields: aeronautics, clothing, medicine...
The objects, applications and works exhibited draw their inspiration from the craziest of dreams and invent today our hopes of tomorrow.

A scientific corner will also illustrate the importance of the research developed in the textile industry and especially in the Lille Eurometropole (France - Belgium). This artistic, educational and poetic journey will interest all types of audience.

INSTALLATIONS
SCÉNOCOSME / Contacts & Akousmaflore
"Contacts" is a new interactive, sensitive, tactile and noise-reactive device that showcases visitors’ bodies. Contact is made by rubbing skin against skin which then triggers off a range of variable sounds. "Akousmaflore" is an interactive hanging garden made up of genuine musical plants, reactivated when touched however lightly. When a visitor caresses or touches them lightly, they start singing...

FRANCIS KURKDJIAN / Perfumed bubbles
A Frenchman with Armenian roots, Francis Kurkdjian, a perfumery artist, has already worked with the most important brands. At the age of 25 years, he designed his first perfume that went on to become a major international success: Le Mâle by Jean-Paul Gaultier. For the Lille Europe Pavilion, he will set up strange perfumed bubble machines, atomisers with delicate aromas and even micro-capsules with sophisticated fragrances that will be combined with cleaning products !

SOUNDWALK / Lille Sounds
Let yourself be carried away by the sounds of the North - stations, brasseries, markets, accordions, the Lille National Orchestra rehearsing... – that will be broadcast in the different parts of the Pavilion (downloading possible on MP3)
