Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery was established in 1982. Today its exhibition program focuses on artists from the Asia-Pacific region – Australia, New Zealand and Japan, in particular. Nine Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery artists have represented their country at the Venice Biennale. Recent examples of this are: 2011 Hany Armanious (Australia) and Michael Parekowhai (New Zealand); 2007 Callum Morton (Australia); 2003 Patricia Piccinini (Australia). Four Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery artists have exhibited in Documenta.
 
Since its inception, Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery has maintained a dynamic international program, taking its artists to the world’s best international art fairs and bringing top international artists to Australia. Exhibitions of international artists presented in Sydney include: Mark Newson (1986), Pierre et Gilles (1995), Robert Mapplethorpe (1996, 1997, 2000), Young British Artists group show (1996), Moriko Mori (1997), Elmgreen and Dragset (2000), Tracey Emin (2004), Isaac Julien (2007, 2010), Yayoi Kusama (2002, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2012). Australian artists such as Bill Henson, Tracey Moffatt and David Noonan who have been represented by the Gallery for many years have gone on to international prominence. The Gallery has an ongoing commitment to introducing younger artists to its program. It is also active in managing major public art commissions for its artists.
