Gallery 100 was created in January 2009 and is curated by senior art manager Ms. Sylvie Chen. The gallery focuses on the promotion of contemporary art and by planning exhibitions based on various themes seeks to share the rich tapestry of contemporary art with both art lovers and collectors in Taiwan and the Grater China region. Gallery 100 is not only interested in working with established local contemporary artists, it also actively introduces international works of art and provides space for a new generation of artists to show their work. We hope that the presentation of quality exhibitions will help to broaden the vision in which people appreciate art in Taiwan and the Grater China region, while stimulating the creative energy of young artists as well as offering alternate opportunities for students at art colleges.

Gallery 100’s opening exhibition “Luminal Art”, was well received and considered by the art community a museum standard event. The exhibition, widely reported in the local media, inaugurated the gallery as an avid sponsor for up-to-the-minute, accessible contemporary art in a fashionable ambience. For Gallery 100 this marked a successful beginning. The gallery plans to build on this foundation with the presentation of its annual exhibition, entitled “Horizon of Voice”, in June 2009 in a new location. Participants will include six outstanding contemporary artists Chin Yu-fen, Yao Qian, Tao Ya-lun, Lin Jiun-ting, Yao Chung-han and Wang Chung-kun. Their works will look at the world of sound in an attempt to convey life scenarios that correspond to such ideas.

Looking to the future, Galley 100 will continue to promote contemporary Chinese art with a view to increase its international exposure. Galley 100 also provides collectors with comprehensive planning and consultancy service, to help them locate and acquire works in which they are interested as well as organize sustainable art collections.
