The main themes of the Water Drops series took shape in the 1970s when Mr. KIM was living in Paris. The Water Drops series is marked for its fusion of Eastern Confucian ideas and modern Western art language, articulating the artist's culture and philosophy in contemporary artistic expression. In the 1980s, Mr. KIM developed a new art language with the Water Drops series on the basis of the abstract form of Chinese characters, beautifully expressing meditative yet dynamic energy in a Zen-minimalist style.
