Making art is like a long journey. It requires burning passion and perseverance to achieve results. Yang-Che Liu has been a painter for more than 50 years. Making art has been his life. He used his brush to express his respect and love for life. His sources of creativity were flowers and plants and common everyday objects. He liked to depict everyday objects in a distinctive, surreal way. Taiwanese historical sites, traditional red-tiled buildings and Buddha statues were also favourite subjects of his. He used his brush to record typically Taiwanese scenes. His style was simple and naturalistic, and full of rich local charm. His paintings stir up fond memories of times gone by in the minds of viewers.
