Daelim Contemporary Art Museum introducing initiative collections in diversity fields, presents the 21st century fashion icon, Paul Smith’s art collection which represents his own philosophy of art and his story for the first time in Korea.

Although Paul Smith did not receive a formal education in fashion design, he became a leading British designer and was knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 2000. His signature design (multicolor stripe) is beloved by so many people around the world - even those not into fashion can recognize it.

The exhibition shows how his art collection has inspired him to create amazing works of his own. As the title indicates, this exhibition will give a glimpse into his art collection as well as his photography, which will help us understand where his tireless passion for design comes from.

Paul’s art collection, which he has accumulated since his early twenties, is a big source of his inspiration and has contributed to his success as an international designer. This exhibition will introduce his collection, as well as other items, to show Paul’s extraordinary views of the world and his sense of humor. It will serve as a new-found inspiration for those who aspire to work in fashion and design.
