2014 Artsonje Open Call #3 The Pleasure of the Exhibition
Artist(s): GROUP SHOW
Date: 14 Jun - 13 Jul 2014

Kyung Roh Bannwart (artist) and Je Yun Moon (curator) raise questions on the way artworks are represented through an exhibition and the way curating defines the relationship between the artwork and the viewer. They study the potential of “exhibition” as a production tool of contemporary visual arts, and seek a new alternative for the unfair structure and hierarchy that the established curatorialship imposes among the curator, artist, artwork, and viewer. Roh Bannwart and Moon aim to find a way to enjoy an exhibition without the burden of having to comprehend the art.
