Morgenstadt - Stories of Today and Tomorrow
Artist(s): GROUP SHOW
Date: 17 Oct - 11 Nov 2012

For its fifth project in this year, 2012 Artsonje Lounge Project #5: Morgenstadt - Stories of Today and Tomorrow draws the features of tomorrow. Following its successful start in Taiwan, Goethe-Institut Seoul is presenting the exhibition in Korea in collaboration with Artsonje Center.

What will tomorrow’s world look like? Might we be living in a future that promises more sustainability? These are two of the questions addressed by Morgenstadt - Stories of Today and Tomorrow. In collaboration with Goethe-Institut branches in the Far East, the Berlin-based graphic design/illustration trio Moga Moba has created a comic weblog. Since 2011 graphic artists from Seoul, Beijing, Taipei, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo and Osaka have been posting weekly episodes of their vision of the future.

Now these Stories of Today and Tomorrow can be experienced in real-time; Moga Mobo have designed an exhibition based on its internet comics. Dioramic installations bring to life the individual illustrating styles of the 17 artists involved in the project.

Moga Mobo will offer a two day workshop on October 18 and 19, 2012 for professional illustrators and graphic artists, granting insight into their international projects and activities. Together with the workshop participants, a Moga Mobo magazine will be designed and published.
