Traces of Centuries
Artist(s): YING Tianqi
Date: 16 Dec - 24 Dec 2011

Ying Tianqi is a very important artist since the new period of development of Chinese art, and the professor of Shenzhen University and guest professor of Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts. This exhibition is held by art critics Wang Lin, and represented in the form of case exhibition. In particular, it showcases his new works over the last decade when he left Anhui for Shenzhen, and the main exhibition shows his latest oil painting Vestiges of the Century completed during the past five years (2006-2011). In addition, it also includes Fractured Black and Dream of Huizhou, canvas works, Vestiges· Vicissitude DV video devices, Ying Tianqi art literature and so on. The new piece of work—the series of Vestiges of the Century—has a grand length and profound artistic conception. It uses materials and objects as the main media and extends a concept of “real existence” to the paintings. Facing at the painting, we see an artist who shows clam and deep thoughts under the impetuous and noisy conditions.
