Meeting at SEA: Conversations on Southeast Asian Contemporary Art
Date: 27 May - 28 May 2011
Meeting at SEA is a series of lively group discussions and presentations on contemporary art in Southeast Asia. Artists, art lovers, curators and critics are invited to themed sessions to exchange ideas through candid conversations and first-hand encounters, thereby contributing to and helping to shape contemporary art discourse and developments. These exchanges will be facilitated through a combined mode of interactive activities, ranging from workshops and lectures, to performances and discussions.
This time, our conversation will revolve around Negotiating Home, History and Nation (NHHN), an exhibition which focuses on the region's recent art history. At the same time, we will also invite six artists from the region to present their practice through workshops and 'live' performance art pieces.
