Latitude - Platform for Brazilian Art Galleries Abroad

Latitude is delighted to announce the participation of three major Brazilian galleries, Casa Triângulo, Galeria Nara Roesler and Mendes Wood DM at Art Basel’s newest international art fair, Art Basel in Hong Kong. Across the three galleries, work by leading international artists will be presented at the fair including Vik Muniz, Joana Vasconcelos and Mariana Palma.
Highlights of work at Art Basel in Hong Kong includes works by Brazilian artist Mariana Palma whose colourful, painted compositions, inspired by the Baroque will be on show at São Paulo gallery Casa Triângulo’s stand along with work by Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos who presented an acclaimed exhibition at Versailles in 2012 and will be representing Portugal at the 55th Venice Biennale (1 June – 27 November 2013). Galeria Nara Roesler of São Paulo will present work by internationally renowned Brazilian artist Vik Muniz who recently presented a solo exhibition at their gallery space in São Paulo as well as work by Brazilian conceptual artist Marcos Chaves and Uruguayan artist Marco Maggi who produces intimate installations with paper. Gallery Mendes Wood DM of São Paulo will present a selection of impressionistic landscape paintings by acclaimed artist Lucas Arruda.
Brazilian gallery presence in Hong Kong builds on the success of the Latitude galleries at the 2012 Art Basel in Miami Beach where all galleries reported strong sales. All three Art Basel in Hong Kong bound galleries showed work as part of the most recent Art Basel in Miami Beach and Mendes Wood DM will also be showing work at Art Basel in June 2013.
