YOUNG ART TAIPEI (YAT) Contemporary Hotel Art Fair is the very first and the most distinctive contemporary art fair in Asia that focuses on young artists under the age of 45.

YAT launched right after the financial crisis in 2009, and became the very first contemporary hotel art fair in Taiwan. It aims clearly to recruit excellent contemporary art galleries all over the world and keep explicitly highlighting on “Young, Delicate and Affordable” works. YAT 2012 has successfully recruited 60 well-known galleries from Taiwan, Australia, America, China, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and Macau, and earned the praise of the hotel art fair in Asia. Every year, a series of marketing plans, such as Young Art Award, Eslite Graffiti show, Yearly Tour Project, and Art Forum, in order to draw art lover’s attention and heat up the contemporary art market. YAT 2012 has reached an incredible numbers of selling piece of 623, and the total selling price is US$1,380,000.

The upcoming year 2013, YAT will reach its 5th anniversary. Our mission statement is to create an international art scene and to develop a well-functioning art market in Taiwan. YAT hopes this hotel art fair can continue on high quality services and diverse marketing plans, in order to establish a more integral art trading environment for art collectors of all ages.

During the exhibition, there will be 60 international galleries attending YAT, presenting their art works in the Sheraton Grande Hotel, Taipei. YAT aspires to create a delicate and elegant contemporary art platform for galleries, curators, artists, collectors and visitors.

Young Art Award:

Since 2010, Young Art Taipei launched a special event, Young Art Award, in order to dig out emerging and potential artists and give art lovers a first glimpse of the outstanding art works. YAT invited each of the galleries to recommend potential artists under 45 years of age to have their works judged by a panel. Young Art Award is not only the approach to recognize new artists, but the award list is further the smart and forecasting choice list for the young or experienced collectors

Yearly Tour Project:

In the upcoming YAT 2013, exhibited galleries will be invited to curate for the topic and participating artists will create artworks for the special theme. The previewing tour will be hosted to introduce more potential artworks directly to local collectors in the middle and south of Taiwan. It aims to link the resources from local directors of every part of Taiwan, meanwhile to highlight the emerging galleries and talented artists before the fair.

Art Forums:

Art Forum has become a successful integral focus of YAT. In 2013, we will honorably invite international renowned scholars and famous leaders in the industry to do the dynamic analysis of the Asian art market. The highlighting themes will bring a variety of issues to audiences.
