Artist(s): Decoster NATHALIE
Date: 20 Apr - 3 Jun 2012
Nathalie Decoster creates bronze figures with geometrical structures to tell us contemporary tales with humor and philosophy. The artworks of this unconventional artist are directly inspired by daily life, presenting men and women in search of elusive time, holding a whimsical mirror to reflect human anxieties in the modern world.
Her works, based on pure lines and simple materials (iron, concrete and mattress springs), are a universal statement to everyone living in big cities. The contrast between the tiny figures and the giant symbols creates a feeling of infinity that invites us to slow down and meditate.
As part of Le French May, Nathalie Decoster presents impressive monumental sculptures in public spaces in both in Hong Kong and Macau, as well as smaller pieces in Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong and in Macau at the Macau Museum of Art, One Central Macau, and Mandarin Oriental, Macau.
Venue: Chater Garden Statue Square, Hong Kong Arts Centre, Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong Date: 20 Apr (Fri) - 03 Jun (Sun) Tickets: Free Admission
