There are always some subtle and complicated connections between home and women, young or old, indigenous women in Taiwan or new immigrants to Taiwan, and women in Taiwan or women in Asia. Women are seen as a pivot in passing down the traditional value of family. They are also seen pursuing their own space consciousness and gender role or seeking a brand-new meaning of home in this globalized world. Based on the theme of women and home, this exhibition explores the subtle connections between women and home, exposes the challenges and dilemma women are encountering amidst the changes of times, and demonstrates how female artists in Asia create different visual and tactile spaces using their own physical/life experiences with home and cultural impacts. There will be dozens of sets of exciting works in different forms such as painting, sculpturing, video art and installation art by Asian artists in this exhibition.
