Hsu found the inspirational nutrition and energy for her artistic creation from her cross-disciplinary experiences in medical science, theatrical performance, artistic creation and community building. Within just a few years, she curated many diversified exhibitions and created an abundance of works in different varieties. She received several awards both at home and abroad for her exhibition curation and artistic creation. In 2010, she was recognized with the 8th Taishin Arts Award for Visual Art. Born in Kaohsiung in 1966, Hsu died of illness in January 2013. Before she passed away, she donated the majority of her works to Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts. This exhibition is held to commemorate this outstanding female artist who suffered a premature death, showcasing her works from 2001 to 2013. This exhibition is the first and also maybe the only one of its kind trying to fully present Hsu’s works for viewers to appreciate her legacy in whole.
