The deconstruction of history and simulation are strategies common to the practices of Basque artists Iñaki Garmendia, Xabier Salaberria, and Erlea Maneros Zabala, whose works actively take up processes of recreation, appropriation, and reinterpretation. This exhibition reflects the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao’s unflagging commitment to analyzing the local art scene.

Comprising three autonomous yet interdependent structures, each housing the work of the featured artists, this exhibition facilitates a process of reciprocal feedback among them. Each structure offers an overview of the artists’ careers while also presenting new works created specifically for this exhibition.
