A unique opportunity for international curators to work with artists from the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia (MENASA), the Abraaj Capital Art Prize is designed to raise awareness of innovative and experimental work being created by artists working in the MENASA region. As well as providing international recognition, the prize offers the opportunity for artists to work alongside established, independent, international curators and to unveil individual exhibitions of their work at Art Dubai, the Middle East’s biggest art fair. By working with such curators, each successful artist is able to develop their work through creative collaboration and widen their international reputation.
The Selection Committee is made up of collectors, curators and journalists, as well as representatives from Abraaj Capital and Art Dubai.
