Insa Art Space is delighted to present 'mis-play,' a report exhibition of results from '2013 ARKO new curator internship program.' The title 'mis-play' is a compound word from 'miscommunication' and 'play.' The exhibition aims to re-interpret meanings of friction and cross-joint on a process of achievement of goal.
The story started from a conversation among four curators. Interns experienced lots of mistakes and frictions for a common cause. The exhibition is based on a process of error they faced with. They threw a question for error to the artists in various fields, and the artists created various 'mis-play' in here. Participating artists are visual art collective KKHH, Hyeon-Joon Chang, the performer, and the designer, Moon Sik Kang, who have concerned about agreement and differences between own activity and social footing, and experiment in visual misunderstanding. Participating artists show a new opportunity of creation from misconception, confusion and copy of standard. Curators and they refuse to reduce the error but suggest it as experiments and plays from various angles to share results with audiences.
