Arts Council Korea ARKO art center is pleased to announce the exhibition 'Memorable Space'. Tobias Putrih, Slovenian artist showing interests in architecture and urban environment through installation constantly, and Dai Goan Chen, Korean artist expressing his interest in a space as bringing a architectural form, will invited to 'Memorable Space' for the first time in Korea.
The exhibition shows the architecture installations as bringing sensuous elements of a place inherent in a memory. While a work by Tobias Putrih recreates a specific place, Revolution square, Ljubljana, based on personal experience, Dai Goang Chen creates a fictional one using materials from the place in memory. Tobias Putrih recasts experience and strong impression at the square in terms of more realistic referent. This is derived from the artist's close study, thinking over the symbolic meaning of the square with historical importance.
In formal aspect of the works, both artists use various materials, woods and objets, and the exhibition will be where their philosophy and the world of art for 'place' can be illuminated. More over, based on characteristic of installation, the process being a part of it, videos and photos of production process will be on display together.
