Born in 1941, Ho Huai-Shuo began his educational and artistic journey in Guangdong Province. In 1962 he moved to Taiwan, where he graduated from the Department of Fine Art at the National Taiwan Normal University, and in 1977, he earned a Master of Arts degree from St. John's University in New York. He paints dreamlike landscapes in which ink wash and texture strokes celebrate the darkness and atmospheric moods of the yin and nocturnal worlds. Ho Huai-shuo currently lives in Taipei where he teaches at the National Institute of the Arts. He has been widely exhibited internationally and is represented in the collections of numerous institutions including the Indianapolis Museum of Art, Indiana, USA, the Hong Kong Museum of Art, Hong Kong, and the National Museum of History, Taipei, Taiwan.
