FONG Chung Ray biography | artworks | events

Born in 1934, Fong left for Taiwan to further his studies in 1949. In 1960, Fong won the Silver Prize of the 1st International Painting Salon organized by the Hong Kong Society of Modern Literature and Arts. Fong was a member of the Fifth Moon and he also won the 7th National Top Ten Young Artist Award. Fong's works have been exhibited in the Group Exhibition of New Landscape Paintings together with Liu Kuosung, Chuang Che and Yu Chengyao. From 1966 - 1968, Fong's works exhibited in several cities in USA as well as Taiwan, including National Museum of History (1974), Triangle Gallery, San Francisco (1978), Gallery New World, Carmel (1983) and MM Shinno Gallery, Los Angeles (1983). Fong moved to San Francisco in 1975. His works are widely collected by prominent museums, including Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, National Tai - wan Museum of Fine Arts and Asian Art Museum of San Francisco .
