This 3 Man exhibition features former KLCA graduates, Hee Chee Way, Siund Tan and Tan Chee Hon.

NN Gallery proudly presents a 3 Man exhibition by up and coming artists Hee Chee Way, Siund Tan & Tan Chee Hon entitled Rising Dreams from 14th February – 4th March 2009. The exhibition will show works in oil on canvas, digital art and new media and works on paper.

The works by the three promising artists take on a surrealist version of their inner thoughts and accounts. Themes, such as dreams, solitary landscapes and peculiar juxtapositions of nature and man-made structures come alive in their work.

Hee Chee Way won the Malaysian Institute of Art Scholarship in 1999. Since graduating he has dabbled in an assortment of jobs from food display artist to web designing.

After returning from his 2 years stay in the UK, Hee Chee Way is active in local Malaysian groups like notthatbalai and Findars. During his tenure in the UK, he participated in many art events and participated in several art societies. He is also the recipient of the XFUNSer Award.

Hee Chee Way finds expression through new techniques and application of media that he has personally devised, using digital media, painting and experimentation his works.

Siund Tan, born in 1981 hails from Kedah and is a self taught artist. After graduating from Curtin University, with a BA in Graphic Design, he continues to pursue his passion for fine arts.

He describes his work as a mixture of representational paintings with a surrealistic twist. These paintings represent one of his key interests to paint childhood recollections and lucid dreams. His vivid canvasses conjure zany anecdotes full of charm and playfulness.

Tan Chee Hon is a painter and a photographer. Using his camera first to snap images that would later become studies for his larger works, Tan Chee Hon is preoccupied with the stillness and quietness of the moment.

His series entitled Inner Landscapes is an ongoing project that he started in 2001. This series portrays atmospheric feelings where each scenery - sky, cloud, land, mountain - in his work represents a metaphor of the places that has caught his attention for its natural beauty and mystical appeal.
