Ngan Pho Gallery was established in Ha Noi's Old Quarter at the turn of the 21st century. Although it is only five years old, it has become one of the distinct galleries featuring Vietnamese contemporary art. Located on Hang Bong-one of the major streets in the Historic District-visitors will be introduced to the paintings of leading artists: Mai Anh, Tran Thanh, Duc Loc and Dang Xuan Hoa.

The paintings of Mai Anh are "quietly emotional and determined. In her impressionist/expressionist oeuvre she goes her own way, mining her memories and her experience and observing the rituals and concerns of women around her." (Ian Findlay-Brown, Editor/Publisher of Asian Art News)

By contrast, artist Duc Loc expresses the soul of an artist that is both restless but full of life and optimism. His bold, bright strokes infuse energy into familiar scenes of his local environs.

Tran Thanh's paintings seduce the viewer into humble scenes of Vietnamese life on large canvasses, creating a sense of stepping back in time.

In addition to their leading artists, Ngan Pho Gallery also features the works of young artists, such as Duong Tuan and Ngoc Vinh. Their paintings express the aesthetic instincts of Viet Nam's next generation.

Upon your visit to Ngan Pho Gallery, you will not only view this venue's fine arts, but receive the warm hospitality that awaits you.
