Born in 1938, Koeh Sia Yong graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, majoring in Western Painting in 1958. He had since undertaken his exploration in art for over 50 years and today he is one of the most outstanding Singapore artists, known for his unique style and excellent painting techniques.
In his art endeavour, Koeh always adheres to realistic approach. Many works have recorded social reality and reflected the characteristics of the period between the 60s and the 70s. Koeh has successfully held many solo exhibitions. Collectors include MNC, banks, Singapore Art Museum, National Museum of Singapore, Soka Gakkai Malaysia Art Museum, Fukuoko Art Museum Japan, universities and art connoisseurs.
The exhibition features oil paintings of different motifs including old and modern Singapore, typical Chinatown and Sentosa scenes.
