artAttack is an international organization that aims to promote the work of its artists members by organizing exhibitions and performances based on an original concept: taking over vacant premises for art purposes.

The idea is simple: to exhibit artwork during a few hours or days in an empty or unused place.

Our purpose is to facilitate - financially, administratively and temporally – the public discovery of artistic productions in an alternative fun, light and surprisingly format that is a far cry from formal (and sometimes intimidating) traditional art galleries.

Thus, each exhibition becomes an "attack" since the place invested is never meant to expose art per se, and rather transforms into a pop-up gallery during the time of the show. The person or company who lends or rents the place (so called "Host") becomes a patron of arts.

The association artAttack was founded in 2003 in Tokyo by Lalie CHOFFEL. Lalie is a French photographer who has over 20 years of experience working on the international art scene both as an art agent and event organizer. Since 2009, she has been the Director of the Center of Mediterranean Culture, "LaChapelleGOKAN” in France.
