Gallery Hyundai is pleased to introduce Jaeho Jung, who records the age as tracing his memory of life. He will introduce 30 new works covering object and person. The title 'Days of dust' means our accumulated life and history in the past like dust. The framed works in the exhibition look like documentary photography.
Jaeho Jung started getting attention with a series of landscape of big city, which was inspired by night in Seoul, a view from Namsan Mountain. After it, he moved his interest to buildings, and started depicting old apartments and household stuff inside. This series makes us look back our life through unfamiliar daily landscape. His interest in old building has been extended to social and historical backgrounds of it, and created current works. The artist thinks back the history through past affair, building, object, and person, and shows how these make a relationship with the reality of today.
