GALLERY HYUNDAI is the first specialized gallery in Korea opened in April, 1970 and has developed in the contemporary art scene about 43 years since its opening, accompanied by many artists. Through various high quality exhibitions, GALLERY HYUNDAI presents not only Korea’s most prominent contemporary artists, but also introduces various artists by which you can, at a glance, examine closely the trend of the global art market.

GALLERY HYUNDAI currently has three different spaces in Seoul; GALLERY HYUNDAI New Space (# 80, Sagan-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul) with an exhibit space of three floors, GALLERY HYUNDAI Main Space (#122, Sagan-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul) with an exhibit space of two floors and Dugahun Gallery (# 109, Sagan-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul). Located at the back yard of GALLERY HYUNDAI New Space, Dugahun Gallery is a traditional tiled-roof wine house and restaurant with the meaning of ‘Very Beautiful House’. The combination of art culture and wine gives the house a unique space. GALLERY HYUNDAI endeavors to discover and support young artists. Since 1995 GALLERY HYUNDAI has run <WINDOW GALLERY>, a unique space for actively introducing and promoting domestic and foreign young artists. This independently running gallery provides young artists an opportunity to launch their careers to the commercial art world.

GALLERY HYUNDAI has held a great number of exhibitions with the masters and the most prominent artists who are representative of the modern and contemporary Korean art such as Soo Keun Park, Jung-Seop Lee, Ucchin Chang, Ki Chang Kim, Daiwon Lee, Kyung Ja Chun, Whanki Kim, YoungKuk Yoo, Tschang-Yeul Kim, Lee Ufan, Sang Hwa Chung, Nam June Paik, Hyun-Ki Park, John Pai and Moon-seup Shim.
