About Artist The artist Mook HAN (b.1914) is the maestro of Abstraction painting in Korea since 1960, 70's. Also, he is one of pioneers who made abractionism to root in Korean art, and his bold tips on painting and perception brought on epoch-making changes in Korean art. He started working around the Korean war, after studying art in Japan. In 1961, he rejected professorship, left for Paris to focus on his artworks. In terms of study on picorial space in depth, his attitude to arts is very idealistic, earnest constantly. He always tells us that pure and sublime arts is worthy as much as life.
