Since opening at the Westin Chosun Hotel, Sogong-dong Seoul in 1971, Chosun Art Gallery planned, exhibited and sold painting, sculpture and woodblock print, etc of famous veteran painters/sculptors and leading painters/sculptors in the nation. In 1991, the gallery was moved to Cheongdam-dong, Seoul to celebrate the 20th anniversary: The gallery opened exhibitions as many as more than 300 times. Chosun Art Gallery has also picked out and supported young painters and sculptors. Since 1982, the gallery joined in the establishment of the Association of Korea-France Fine Arts to make in roads into international market and managed fine arts exchanges between Korea and France: In addition, the gallery participated in sample market of international fine arts works at FIAC France, ART COLOGNE Germany and NICF, etc. In 1989 and 1990, the gallery opened tour exhibitions at Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Fukuoka, etc to enter Japanese fine arts market. In 2001, Chosun Art Gallery was moved to 2nd floor of COEX (Convention & Exhibition) Bldg at Samsung-dong Seoul and celebrated the 35th anniversary. Kwon S, representative of Chosun Art Gallery, took office of the 3rd, the 9th and the 11th chairman of the Galleries' Association of Korea to devote himself to the development of Korean painting circles and fine arts market.
