As a new media art festival of alternative video, NeMaf was launched in 2000, as Indie video festival. NeMaf has been destorying the boundary between video and painting With creative energy and passionation of Hong Dae, the home of Indie culture.

We have been introducing new media art works with new imagination and new use. We Aim to find potential artists and support them in the belief that everyone can be new media artists. We are going to prepare for a good chance to have a better communication between artists and audiences actively.

The Front Runner in New Media Art
As a festival which introduces a high quality of new media art works with specilism, after a number of artists have been introduced through this festival, they start to build a network on the basis of Seoul international new media festival. As a result, they are preparing to have a meeting for new media artists in order to have various joint projects and build solidarity.

Nemaf, as a festival which has been developing and producing various creative genres, suggest a new possibility of media genre such as media symphony(rhythm image), image poem(Prose, a mental picture), visual performance, digital media art, video activism, video diary, and B grade kitsch cinema. NeMaf is showing experiments, imagination and creativity in the front line of change in movie/media/image.
