Since opening its doors in 2003, Galerie Pici has focused on promoting contemporary Asian artists, be it like the established Japanese artist -Yayoi Kusama or budding young artists, to a global market as well as expanding the Asian market to include other foreign contemporary artists.

The first goal is attained principally through our continuous participation in various art fairs domestically and internationally, including KIAF, Art Osaka, ArtSingapore, Shanghai Art Fair, Art Innsbruck and MiArt, with plans to include the U.S. Our achievements have included commissions from various organizations to conceptualize and execute curatorial group shows at international venues including the Tollwood Winter Festival in Munich, Germany; Sarajebo Festival in Bosnia-Herzegovina; Osaka New Medium Symposium in Japan; Dazaifu Tenmangu Symposium in Fukuoka, Japan; and Kufukuji International Art Symposium in Nagasaki, Japan.

Galerie Pici actively seeks to encourage the expansion of the Asian contemporary art market through its relationships with cultural institutions and foreign embassies in Korea (including Italy, Austria, Mexico, Australia, Canada, Brazil, and New Zealand). In doing so, Galerie Pici has hosted numerous group/solo exhibitions of select artists who are co-sponsored by their respective embassy and embody the rich diversity of their respective cultures. These artists are generally emerging and mid-career contemporary artists working in diverse mediums who have not otherwise been introduced in Asia.

In conjunction with the exhibition programs of Galerie Pici, we believe our mission is furthered through educational programs geared toward building and maintaining market sensitive collections. This includes hosting annual seminars on relevant buyer centered topics.

Galerie Pici is situated right in the heart of the contemporary art gallery district in Seoul, South Korea, known as Cheongdam-dong. Galarie Pici is housed in a five story building with three floors of dedicated exhibition space that allows its visitors the ability to experience the works in a museum-like setting. We hope you will come and enjoy your visit.
