100 degrees Fahrenheit vol.3
by Cashi Contemporary Art Shima
Location: Cashi Contemporary Art
Artist(s): Yuta ISHIKAWA, Sakurako NAKAMURA, Kohdai DENO
Date: 1 Jun - 30 Jun 2012

We will this time present “100 degrees Fahrenheit vol.3” group show of young artists, from June 1 through 30. It is said that our normal body temperature is 98.6°F and we need medical treatment if our body temperature exceeds 100°F.

So we set 100°F as the temperature that begins to have harmful effects on the body and named the exhibition “100 degrees Fahrenheit”. “100 degrees Fahrenheit vol.0” was held in June 2008 as our first exhibition.
Both exhibitions showed the heat and energy of the new generation, as exemplified by our name, “CASHI” (which means fahrenheit in Japanese).

In the 4th part of this series, we are going to exhibit the work of 3 young artists. Works by Yuta ISHIKAWA are oil paintings, filled with somehow melancholy fantasy. Works by Sakurako NAKAMURA are fine high relieves, making us imagine what the hidden parts are like. And works by Kohdai DENO are sublime miniatures, using as subjects girls and insects, and the universe.
