Date: 20 Nov 2012 - 16 Aug 2013
The first exhibition we are glad to open will be dedicated to “Inorganic Flora”, the digital art images by New Media artist Macoto Murayama, who uses cut-edge software and 3D modeling to create the synthetic image, combining soft organic forms of plants with cold visuality of technical sketches. While working on the borderline of art and science, and integrating architectural, computer and botanical knowledge the artist opens new possibility for Botanical Illustration in Digital Age at the same time bringing attention to the aesthetic potential of engineer diagrams. Neither just space nor only the art works, but their interplay is what we would like to offer to experience. Reflective surfaces of the furniture in the lobby and the sexappeal of its chrome coldness, inorganic white color and strict partitions of the celling, space ship-like perspectives and computer game-type of the grid become the vessel for Murayama’s Inorganic Flowers. It is the exhibition of the virtual reality in presence, where unity of sensitivity and preciseness is shaped by the latest technology.
