Spring Wonderland
by Soka Art Center
Location: Soka Art Center
Artist(s): LI Yin
Date: 29 Oct - 27 Nov 2011

Floating(浮), a quality suggestive of poetry or painting; Spring(春), diluted dark ink painting again; Of(之), exclusive just for yourself; Countryside(鄉), sweet dreams in the wonderland.

Spring Wonderland(浮春之鄉) is an Arcadia hides inside the city, where vividly old memories stay there. There’s no entrance or exit, living a life without knowing the outside world.

Same place and different time. Two parallel lives. Just like playing the reality and replaying the memories.

Spring Wonderland, with delicious food, everything in place, I visit it again and again in my mind, seems like those small branches from the tree are all so clear, seems like it’s all forgotten, wakes up from the dream in dawn.

I’m afraid not being able to guard all the petals falling in riotous profusion, mourning in the memorial ceremony.
----- Topic remarks

Living a life in fantasy, making the black and red numbers in the calendar as imagination;
Telling a lie, countlessly repeat to myself, have become the truth in the end;
Falling into a river of delusion, the content of delusion is “what if”.

What if I can greet guests in closing doors, what if I can take the land at will, what if I can dress in fine clothes in the morning and shower in the water of peach blossom at night, then I won’t be so passive? All I really want is momentarily motionless, a quiet retreat; I dress in festival costume jumping down from the train, eating a vanilla ice cream with a cherry from the can on top.

Driving with two cars on the way to Yinchanggou, the scenery outside of the window quickly flashes by, making the sound of hwa-la-la, with strong rock-and-roll music and the sound of walky-talky, all these winds blow your mind away. So, this is how time flies by in an unnoticeable way then punishes you with heart breaking pain for being ignored in the beginning.

Look, this is the scenery of Si-Chuan, full of mountains and hills, surrounded by the green environment; I can no longer stand the dullness of the plain area.

We are making the friendly noise and excitement in the car because we have almost known each other since we were little children. Everyone is talking something on the walky-talky. It is still early and we will soon arrive Yinchanggou, our summer trip.

The scenic spot is well developed. But the roads are unavoidable bumpy. We took a vigorous group photo on the small pond under the waterfall. The water splashes from the waterfall makes my clothes wet and fogs my glasses, which is a winter-like rain in the hot summer.

Cheng-du, Yinchanggou, 19℃-25℃, humidity 54%, wind velocity 2km/h, this is the Yinchanggou’s weather forecast, but it is gone. The earthquake has made two mountains into one.

Can I still see the rock full of moss in the small pond? If it still remember our laughs from that year.

The peninsula iron box has already become rusty. There’s no more chance to drink grandfather’s tea again. The old CD player can no longer play “fantasy”, “Still fantasy” sounds like a ridiculous peddling.

Moss is the years of healed wound. Rocks would never change.

Don’t care about the good world; also don’t care about the bad world. This is our world. No matter something good or something bad happens, the world still moves on. It is full of happiness, sadness, time spending together and time to set apart.

Indeed, to live is the slowest of all.
