Art Scene Warehouse is pleased to announce its upcoming exhibition called “Man Made Jungles”. The show is comprised of a group of contemporary Chinese artists which will include both sculptors and painters in their discussion of contemporary life in China.
From the numerous predators and countless prey to exotic wonderlands filled with beauty and danger, man has not only been bound to the jungle, but consumed by the mere thought of it. Humans have even destroyed some of nature’s jungles, to make their own “man made jungles” where existence is often subject to man’s will. Ironically enough, existence can be just as precarious and temporary in a “man made jungle” as in nature’s jungles.
Life in this frail yet fascinating “man made jungle” has inspired numerous contemporary Chinese artists from Chen Geyi’s dark yet eerily luminous wasteland paintings, to Feng Dakang’s bright, misshapen, abandoned buildings. “Man Made Jungles” is an exhibition of some of today’s contemporary Chinese artists displaying life as it changes and evolves in urban China.
