Salustiano´s artworks do not look like anything we have seen before, but at the same time they resort to artistic structures and representative languages that are part of our most primitive being. His paintings transcend the almost too beautiful exactness of reality; he goes far beyond the portraits by seducing the viewer, creating links with the spectator, searching in its own nature, suggesting more mysteries than answers. The technical perfection and the extreme realism of his artworks are a mere pretext to ironically contrast with the subjective emotions he creates.

The Seville based artist's first Shanghai solo exhibition shocks the viewer by his unique red figures of characters that are out of context on abrasive red serene backgrounds. He retreats from the symbolism worldwide given to red colour (passion, magma, strength, braveness) and provoke a visual stimulation by maintaining the purely physical properties of red which supersedes the capacity of the viewer´s comprehension.

His work has been widely exhibited in galleries and museums. Now is the chance for China to appreciate the unquestionable talent of this International Spanish artist.
