| by FQ Projects Location: Booth LF12, Olympic Grand, Olympia Way, Hammersmith Road, Kensington, London, W14 8UX
Artist(s): DAI Mou Yu, SUN Yu
Date: 28 Feb - 1 Mar 2014
Dai Mouyu's work not only shows “beauty”, but also allows viewers to have a perspective on his creative attitude behind his drawings, and through this thorough consideration and understanding, these seemingly “delicate” works deliver a force, a belief. Looking at Dai Mouyu’s paper works, one can feel the beauty in the coexistence and balance of emotion and reason. In his exquisite style, the detailed lines and flowing forms gathered together release a steady, yet freely tense and relaxed, strength.
Dai Mouyu was born in Guangdong province in 1975 and currently lives and works in Shanghai. His works have been exhibited in several major exhibitions: Lianzhou International Photography Festival, Guangzhou Photography Biannual, Taipei MoCA, Shanghai Duolun Art Museum, Shanghai Art Museum, etc.
Sun Yu specialises in portraits, composed with a solid academic base coupled with a deep and brave thinking. This unique expression of painting represents a composition that is modest yet subtle with strength; full of complex and delicate human emotions. With his usual meticulous style, his works reenact modern people’s lives and their destinies. Within this, his audiences are led to explore and ponder upon both spirit and life. Thus, he creates an open conversation between himself and his audience.
Sun Yu, born in 1982 in Jilin and graduated from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 2009. Now he lives and works in Beijing. His works were selected for the new forces of Lingnan Oil Painting Exhibition. Since 2010, FQ Projects organizes his solo shows each year and several groups. Sun Yu’s works also presented at different international art fairs. All exhibitions were well received with good feedback and captured the attention from the Art World.
