Travels by car from Toronto to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, photographing Latin America

Spends five long winters photographing Mexico and Guatemala

Lives in Cuba for one year photographing his Cuban Interiors project

Invited to Fukuoka, Japan, by “Japan Seen Through European Eyes”
2001
Spends 3 months in the small town of Baracoa, Cuba, concentrating on interiors, a photography project funded by Institute Néerlandais

April until August: Photographs the Cuban community in Miami

Pursuit of his major project “Chinese Interiors” with travels to Xinjiang, Yunnan
