Born in Sichuan. Xiang Guohua graduated in 2008 from the painting department at the Sichuan Fine Arts Academy University in Chongqing. where he is currently teaching. Although trained in traditional Chinese ink painting, Xiang has been working in the medium of oil since leaving the academy. His works combine an aesthetic of traditional Chinese landscapes that experiment with the materials and techniques of the past. His latest works include the use of incense to burn small holes on to rice paper. in addition to acrylic engraving, to create a natural scenery.
