am art space is pleased to present the project “Deep in the Cloud” by Yan Jun and Yu Ji. Working with different media and materials, two artists will collaborate on this project and bring a performance to the opening day.
This project can be viewed as researching a more open way to self-loose on art. Dust, which is the starting point of this project, is also the material Yu Ji very often uses in her resent works. The space is installed confusedly, and orderly at same time, sculptures and sound stay together and to be the background of each other. Yan Jun’s improvised performance is set up as an unstable system. The changing of sound keeps balance in unsteadiness, and will be broken all the time.
Meanwhile, the movement of sound causes the vibration and the airiness in space, interferes the trace of dust. To the end, sound drops to the ground, with dust in the air. During the exhibition, audience may decide to play the sound or not by themselves.
