"A Yi Cup" Theater series is an event of the "Cup Play", which is initiated by Shao Yi and Tang Maohong from 2013. As they say, " 'Cup Play' are the scenes of creative practise, happening in various places." “Cup Play” is a long-term activity that will include a collection of different themes. In addition, there are four activities that will go along with this exhibition.

At "A Yi Cup" Theater series, artworks, and other materials from the studios of Shao Yin and Tang Maohong are moved to am art space. A participant will be invited to tidy them up and disrupt the materials again. Different participants will repeat the same process. After the exhibition, all the materials will be transported back to their original places.

Since the two artists did not set any criteria, participants who have nothing in common could orchestrate the items according to their respective understanding or personal experiences. The participants became the creators, as they directly intrude the works.
