Jing’an International Sculpture Project (JISP), a first top-level governmental public art event organized by renowned international and Chinese curators, can hardly find any historic references neither in Jing’an, nor in Shanghai, nor in China. Thanks to the systematic organization of Purple Roof Art Gallery of Shanghai, JISP shall timely promote its utter fantasy at Jing’an Sculpture Park (situated in heart of downtown Shanghai) from Sept. 1 to Oct. 30, 2010 for the first show and delight the large public by bringing contemporary Chinese and international public art artists of established or emerging visibility and recognition, such as Jan Fabre (France), Wim Delvoye (Belgium), Jaume Plensa (Spain), Olaf Mooij (Holand), Arne Quinze (Belgium), Valerine Goutard Andrianoff (USA), Alexander Arrechea (Cuba, Spain) , Gao Xiaowu and Chen Wenling (China), among others that are also of interest and that people will discover while walking through park or along Nanjing Road Commercial Zone where they will be staged.
