The Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) is a bitmap image format which supports up to 8 bits per pixel (256 distinct colors) to refer to true color image.
Great Internet Format (GIF) was first launched by imagokinetics lab with a series of art activities that based on GIF, in which the part [reality mix] is to exist as an useable art work in reality instead of living in the internet circumstance.
[reality mix No.1] artists are invited to make GIF works from Sep 28 to Oct 28 2011, all the works are updated by holygraphic projection on the window of JNBY Wulin store.
[reality mix No.2] is carried out to realize the concept that GIF animation evenly divides time in another medium, including an update of [reality mix No.1] which considers GIF as the material of impulse video, and to create sound & video with these material by a software run by HTML/Javascript (at the opening only). The DVD set of selected GIF works are also available for purchase during the exhibition.
