An artist with a singular view on the social developments of his country – which he represented at the 2003 Venice Biennial – in the post-political context of globalization, Liu Jianhua is particularly interested in the influences of this context on the interrelationships occurring between the individual and his environment. Liu Jianhua is an Associate Professor at the Sculpture Department of the School of Fine Arts of the University of Shanghai.
