Li Songhua is one of the most promising artists of the emergent generation in China today. His sculptures and installations use different materials, some of them unusual, mixing traditional methods with an informal approach, such as bronze and feathers. He draws his inspiration from ancient myths but adapts to modern day tastes and expresses himself according to new contemporary approaches. He has been invited to exhibit at large art exhibitions at home and abroad including The Triennial of Chinese Art, Nanjing Museum in 2005, China Gold: Chinese Contemporary Art, Musée Maillol, Paris and Poznan Biennial of International Contemporary Art, in 2008.
