International Outstanding Artists Exhibition
by 99 Degree Art Center (Shanghai)
Location: 99 Art Center
Date: 10 Jul - 31 Jul 2010

Chiu Hsiente
In his resulting work,he has transformed the traditional, straightforward approach to watercolor through the addition of a sensibility derived from the eastern ink-wash tradition.Chiu’s paintings feature colors with all the saturated intensity of oils, while at the same time he has expanded the limits of scale in watercolor paintings that often exceed 200 centimeters in size.Chiu’s individualistic style has been forged through years of effort and study, which have produced a unique combination of oil, watercolor, and ink-wash techniques with a strong eastern flavor and aesthetic.

Jiang Zhixin
Jiang Zhixin's freely impressionistic paintings capture the bold, powerful spirit of China's great Northwest. One of the most energetic figures in the world of Chinese art, Jiang imbues his ink-wash paintings with the feel of these ageless landscapes in a uniquely appealing way, projecting their beauty of their vast expanses and their breadth and power.
Jiang merges tradition and modernity wonderfully in his paintings, where strong, clear rhythms emerge from the ink and brushstrokes to create the evocative tension of the works.

Jason Chang
With practiced and precise stokes of the pastel stick, Jason Chang achieves a natural freedom in the application of pastel colors. The intense contrasts of light and shadow often displayed in his work are a feature of his unique style.Chang's pastels have gained him entry into major arts organizations in the United States. In 2005, the Pastel Society of America made him one of their Master Pastelists, the highest honor that a pastel artist can receive.

Chen Hsientung
Nature is main subject of his creation, which he recombines and re-creates with his unique abstract language. His paintings are elegant and delicate with multiple textures. New media enrich his painting language while powerful colors stimulate reviewers. Differing from the Western reasonable abstract paintings, his works possess a peculiar Oriental free style and spiritual connotation.

Jan ChinShui
This artist's work joins traditional Chinese landscape painting with the oil medium, in which Jan's subtle use of special color-wash techniques and thin films of pigment projects the atmosphere and vividness of traditional paintings in a completely new and modern manner. Jan presents a natural and tasteful view of the melting of deep snows in the Tibetan mountains.
