by 99 Degree Art Center (Shanghai)
Location: 99 Degree Art Center
Artist(s): WU Ting Hsien, BAI Lan Di, HUANG Kai Shin
Date: 3 Mar - 28 Mar 2010

Bai Landi
Juxtaposing trash cans that suggest the progress of time and the relics of its passage with flowers that represent youth and the prime of life, the artist creates clever contrasts between the two while projecting an individual sense of style. With a solid technical foundation, Bai Landi is a young contemporary artist with great potential.

Huang Kaishin
Huang Kaishin is a young female artist whose unusual outlook and thought have led to her to embrace both philosophy and literature. While somewhat introspective in character, her canvases nonetheless exude passion, creativity, and boldness of expression. Huang was the 2007 first-place winner of the ABN AMRO Bank's Young Artist Award.

Wu Ting-hsien
From his early, impressionist style, Wu Ting-hsien has developed into a highly mature artist with a minimalist style. This stylistic development did not take place without intense effort, and while Wu employs the western oil medium and evokes the beauty of western structuralism, his work nevertheless also suggests the lyricism and the atmosphere of traditional Chinese ink-wash painting. Wu Ting-hsien is an artist who stylistically is very exceptional and international in outlook.
