Leo Gallery proudly presents the Four Female Artists Show, comprised of works by leading Chinese artists. Each artist has unique international experience from which they draw upon for inspiration. Ying Hung was born and raised in Hong Kong. Later, she moved to New York City, where she is still based. Her work comes from an awareness of her dual cultural identity.
Though Ann Yen has lived around the world due to her husband’s position as the US Consul General, her works continue to focus on the heart and soul of her native Shanghai.
Zhang Tiemei is a leading female figure of the Chinese contemporary art scene. Having shown at the Today Art Museum (China), Bologna Contemporary Fine Arts Museum (Italy), and Oslo Artists Center (Norway), she also helps shape the next generation of artists as a professor of Installation Design and Oil Painting at Changchun University of Technology.
Dong Zi’s contribution to the ceramic art world is as artist, educator, and advocate. After establishing a ceramic art center in Beijing, she began conducting study tours of traditional Chinese ceramic art in Shanxi, Guizhou, Yunnan, Tibet and Hebei Provinces. She later continued developing her work at the French National Art Academy and in ceramic studios in Strasbourg and Barcelona.
